MR to C6
No MSRP, No release date(Oh, Fall04), BS stories from dealers.....very good Mitsubishi this is the way to regain sales.....sorry had to vent.........
It seems that Mitsu is playing games with the release so that their assclown dealers can mark the car up. They want to build the hype so they can get ya for extra 5,000$. This is just a game....and they will turn off a lot of perspective buyers because of this cheap marketing BS and dealer greed.
The Evo is a great car manufactured by a company with no marketing and no public relations skills. I recall Mitsu saying just after the 03 evo was released that the car(EVO) will move further away from the Jap. spec evo and no future model upgrades will be implemented. (why would you want to say this about your best product?) and @ the same time dealers were marking the car up $5,000. SAME THING WILL HAPPEN THIS TIME.. WATCH!!! They will sell the 05 and next year and you will probably see items like S-YAW standard on all evos and the same BS will start over again.
I pulled my deposit on the MR and bought a Corvette C6 which BTW almost cost the same 39,000(employee discount) and I knew what the MSRP was 6 months before the car was released. I'm somewhat glad that mitsu delayed the MR release because it made me look somewhere else and I'm happy. The C6 is more of a performer and hell of a sports car.....insane power!!!
Good Luck to you all waiting for the MR...........

Alot of people have deals written up for MSRP, so I dont wanna hear this "mitsu fueling the dealer markup stalling technique".
As for the c6, great purchase, I would be considering one too if I didnt live in the Northeast and already didnt have a corvette for weekend duty. I need a daily driver, not another corvette. But thats my personal situation.

In a year or two they'll have the Z06, a much bigger jump then the MR, so don't complain about mitsu upgrading. The C6 is a great car though. Congratulations. Gorgeous, great performance. Practicality is just not there for some needs. . . And I think to a few, the WRC thing is still a big selling point with the Evo. Plus the MSRP is still said to be under 35k. So the price difference is there. Don't expect there to be a mark up. If you can't find one @ MSRP, Just wait till sales slow down. I doubt there are 1000 people in the US who are willing to pay much over MSRP.
Enjoy your C6, I'm sure it won't be hard with 400hp in fairly light RWD car
I still see it as a very different route then the MR and hard to compare though.

Actually the C6 was 38,745 out the door(reg, tax etc.)......with my discount and rebate...great deal....and the car gets great gas mileage22-28..
This brings the price down to the Evo MR MSRP...not including dealer gouging, and who knows what that is going to be. The evo should be sold by Toyota or Mazda, not Mitsu. It(Evo) would do so much better as far as name recognition.

Yes, I think If I had a second car for the winter and was considering a new car I would buy the C6. I saw one in black and it looked great, plus it's smaller than the C5 with a nice interior.

Wow, I didn't know you could get a C6 for so cheap, usually brand new (even if they are just re-designed) models have a premium placed on them. I don't think Mitsubishi has handled the marketing of the MR very well, but it is not the first company to do this and play with our emotions and disappoint the consumer. Mazda for example with RX-8, talk about a hike in price, the car base price is $26,999 yet I saw models for sale at the dealership for $40,000 to $42,000 absolutely ridiculous, and I pitty the fool that actually bought the car for that price. Just to make matters worst, the RX-8 is down on power (it already was underpowered to begin with). Yet while this does happend once in awhile with Mazda and other car manufactuers, this is not the norm, that is the problem Mitsubishi, this is beginning to become the norm. I hate to see this too, Mitsubishi's own worst enemy is itself.
I qualified for the GM supplier discount price, which is 10% below invoice plus rebates. You have to work for a company that handles GM accounts. The C6 price was lowered by GM for 05 versus the C5. The problem with the C6 is the dealer markup is about 8,000$. I would never buy the C6 if the GM supplier discount did not exist.
I had a deposit on the MR (back in May), but got discouraged with the "around 35,000$ MSRP", and release delay tactics by Mitsubishi. And assclown Mitsu dealers WILL mark up the MR this year. So it became unrealistic to buy the MR for over 35,000$.
I like the EVO MR a lot, I think its a great car but realisticly you will not buy it this year unless a markup is involved.
The C6 is a crazy fast car( with top quality build this year) and with the discount I was unable to resist. I think I made the right chioce. Let me tell ya....I drove a 96 Dodge Viper and the C6 seems faster. Words can't describe this car.....I highly recommend it.

And remember folks, the parent company doesn't really see a dime of that markup unless Mitsu's financing arm took care of the deal. The only real entity making money off of price gouging are the dealerships themselves.
As for the C6... yeah, you really can't go wrong with one of those, especially with the GM discount.
MR to C6
I hope the C6 is worth the $$$. I had a 2002 Zo6 and think that it was nice but the bulid quality was not there It had plenty of power and the braking was excellent. But the car lacked build quality = cheap plastic interior, I hated the 6 speed transmission very notchy and did not shift well. In the year and a half that i had it the power windows broke twice, The AC Temperature sensor went Twice which meant it only worked on high.and the last thing that broke was the power door lock and let me tell you I was very embarased I was leaving a club and i had met a girl while i was out and while walking to the car i hit the door unlock button and guess what it would not unlock. Before that happened she was telling me as we were walking to my car wow what a beautiful corvette you have lol and that had to happen. So in my 5,500 miles of owning the vette i did not have too good of an experience.....BUT LET ME TELL YOU IT DOES GET ALOT OF ATTENTION. I hope that the new C6 vette is better. I have not driven one yet. Oh and by the way i hope you dont plan on selling it anytime soon the resale value sux on it. In the year and a half I owned it I lost 8,000. I wish you the best of luck with your new C6,and hope that you don't need to take more than 1 person with you when you go anywhere. and when you do go somewhere
I hope that its just a weekend trip cause you can't fit **** in it . And to let you know on the gas mileage i did a mix of driving, highway was good but city sucked. The average for the 5,500 miles i had it was 17 miles per gallon. Like I said good luck with your new ride I hope you enjoy it.
P.S. As far as comparing an EVO and a VETTE there is none. TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT VEHICLES.
The only thing you were really comparing was price and that was my 2 cents.
PEACE OUT
Derek

. So why are you posting? Buyer/EVO remorse?
I have no remorse on buying an Evo. I just think Evo is a better all around car.
That is just my opinion. The evo to me is more of a driver car while the vette is a sport/ status car.
I have never had any women say wow you drive an EVOLUTION

BUT I DON"T CARE ABOUT ATTENTION/ STATUS STUFF. I LIKE A PURE SPORTS CAR WHERE YOU FEEL EVERY BUMP AND EVERY TURN. 2 EACH HIS OWN AS THEY SAY

Take it easy
Derek
P.S. I was just stating that because i have owned both.
