My new RS is such a HOOT !!!
Just had to say I got my RS just a couple of days ago. Tonight I took a long drive through the canyon and coast roads in SoCal, in the dark and fog. The car flies, and it just feels like it runs on rails. The gearbox, steering and handling, right out of the box, are incredible. I even saw a black VIII on Pacific Coast Hiway, and we beeped at each other as I flew past.
This car is fuggin' perfect. Let's all do a group hug.

Completely different from the S4. In terms of straight line acceleration, they are comparable. You can't beat the S4's 340 hp V8. The S4 is an incredible car to drive fast. I've had it up to 152 mph (it's electronically governed at 155, but would probably do 175 otherwise). It is very smooth and luxurious. It's like driving a Rolex watch.
The EVO RS is much more of a brute. Stripped of all luxuries, it is very elemental. You really feel connected to the road. The big downfall of the S4 is that it is so heavy at 3800 lbs. That negatively impacts handling. I have driven it on the racetrack, and I leave everyone behind on the straightaways, but can't keep up in the corners. The handling and steering of the RS are its high points. I'm taking it to the track tomorrow. Can't wait.
