Start with the basics... better flowing intake... better flowing exhaust....

TURBO!

minor: ecu, intake, exhaust, headers etc. Since its an auto, theres not much he can do to make it significtanly faster ( i know, i use to have an auto es) besides a turbo, but those minor things are a start.

No one makes turbo kits for the 04 Lancers yet (excluding the Ralliarts). If he does decide to go turbo he's going to need a few extra items since Mitsu changed the 04's fuel system to returnless.

RRM makes one, you can use the same turbokit for the o2-o3 on the o4... the engine hasnt changed from those years, its still 120hp/130trq.

Right, but the fuel system has. It's now a returnless system. You'll have to buy either a digital fmu and put additional injectors in the intake pipe or convert the fuel system to a returnable system.

You can still buy the RRM kit for the 04 but you'll need to buy those extra items for the fuel supply.

This isn't really a how to. Moving to the Newbie forum.

I hear you get a lot of horsepower by looking around and running searches. The forums have been here for a long time. If you think you're the first person to ask how to get horsepower out of a Lancer...well....
