evo parts on MR

quick question, will regular EVO parts work on the EVO MR? im guessing yes, but wanting to make sure... and im thinking that parts that dont work on both cars are transmission parts only...?

I would be a little concern on drivetrain parts. Exterior and interior should work just fine.

yeh i was guessing that too, and the transmission since the mr is 6-sp and gsr 5-sp...
what i mainly wanna know is the engine parts, like say... Vishnu's stage 2 or even a simple intake or exhaust, will it work on the MRs? (asking since most parts were developed using the regular evo as the platform...)

Cat-back from an '03-'04 will fit the '05 MR's, I installed the greddy Evo2 from an '03 Evo and it's a snug fit. I will try to do the DP next.

I'm guessing anything engine management might be iffy cause of new turbo, new 5k rev limiter for takeoff, and etc.

cause my experience is that auto companies like to rewrite their code in ems to try and make it harder for people to tune and ruin motors that htey have to fix under warranty, also every year, there seems to be some new emmision thing to have to work around. also, cause turbo is a little diff, fuel map will be different, also the new 6 speed transmission probably has some sort of computer interface. but this is all hypothetical of course, so don't quote me on it.

I have a IX MR and i don't buy part's unless it states it will fit the IX or will fit the EVO 8 or 9 because some thing's are a little different from the EVO 8 and 9

clutch and flywheel from evo works on MR, all go-fast goodies work EXCEPT be weary of 3" downpipes for the evo 8, most will rub your transfer case and rattle. pretty much any of the 2.5-2.75's work, some people have luck with 3", i've had 2 and both rattled, i'm waiting for an evo IX edition to come out.

most parts work from the ix, just the transmission related stuff is different... the rs and gsr have mivec too there's a misconception amoung the newbies that only the mr has it... happy modding..

if it happens WOT redline shifting, it's just the rear diff hitting the underbody due to the soft rubber busings, you can replace with polyurethane ones. i forget if energy suspension or prothane makes them, one of those though.
