Ok, Seeing as both cars share the same chassis, I was wondering which parts from the JDM evo 7 will bolt up to the USDM Evo 8 and vice versa. For example, can an exhaust system built for the USDM 8 fit the JDM 7? Will Body kits for the USDM 8 fit the JDM 7? Are there parts that will fit, but with modifications?

I know that the JDM car comes with AYC and ACD versus the USDM which on has ACD (and only in '05 models), so I am not too concerned with the differences there. I am more interested in body components, internals (cams, cam gears, etc etc.), Exhaust and intake components...etc etc etc.

Waiting on my 7 to get to me so I am interested to see which parts I can use.

 

Most of the parts will fit, either bolt on or with slight modifications. The USDM version of the E8 has an extra crash bar behind the rear bumper which makes the bumper stick out a bit further. This in turn make an exhaust for a US car slightly longer but it would still fit a JDM 7 or 8. A body kit for a US car would probably fit a JDM but it would bulge out some I guess, don’t know if it might be mounted onto that crash bar in some way so you might need to make some adapters or so. Engine parts are a straight swap, I’m using US pistons and rods in my 7 and cams etc. will also fit.

Good to know. I am interested in swapping the hood and front bumper. I know the car will look alot like an 8 then, but hey. Thanks for the info. Good to know that the engine parts are str8 bolt up though
