Clutch Install...
I have a 03 evo with a toasted clutch... well a local mechanic is working on the car and i seriously doubt hes ever worked on an evo. Well he got all the basic crap out...all the stuff on the topside... the undertray, axles outta the tranny, crossmember, mounts for the tranny... the tranny does not come down and i have the how-to from the how to section and he doesnt even wanna read it. THe engine just leans down on the tranny side cuz the mounts are out except for the last mount on the passenger side which is holding the engine. I tried to explain to him that it is possibly the throwout bearing attatched to the pressure plate, but now hes gonna get a engine hoist and just lift the entire engine outta the bay and drop the tranny from there i guess? I think its a huge waste of time, what do u guys suggest and what do u think about this way of taking the tranny down? I guess its easier in SOME ways cuz the entire engine is not sittin in the bay whereu gotta get under the car. BTW: i hate the plastic undertray!
