If your going in hopes of a straight up trade then it wont happen, I dont mean to sound rude or anything but the dealerships wont care how much money you put into the car, sure they will care while there selling it. When you trade it in they will look up the value of a stock lancer es.

So, yes they will trade but it will be for a stock lancer es, and I would highly doubt there going to make a trade from one to the other without you paying more on the evo. Sadly its not in there best intrest to make a trade like that, again not trying to be an *** but its true.

I traded my 03.5 Mazdaspeed protege towards my EVO and t hey only gave me 13k for it and the reason they gave me that much is because it was a limited edition vehicle they could mark up. Though they didnt care one bit for the mods or work I put into her, which I knew would happen.
So I would tell you to pull everything off the car and sell it to someone with an lancer es or oz and then trade yours in, so you will have trade in value and then some extra cash from your old mods.

Technically the more you mod your car, the more you devalue it. Risk of damage to the vehicle / people want to buy stock cars. Try selling it on ebay to a private buyer then use that to help pay for a Evo. Thats your best bet.
