I don't see anything wrong with him driving an Evo as his first car. it's probably one of the more forgiving fast cars out there. An '01 M3 was my first, and it is a lot more delicate than an Evo since high powered rwd cars are much less forgiving.

If he does get one, make sure he takes some drivers ed like car control clinics or a track day or two.

In the end he's gonna get what he wants, I know I did thats why my first car was a nissan 300zx, never crashed no speeding tickets, sold it, don't have money now, but a longboard is a sure fun way to get around town =]

This is a lot of car for a first time driver. I wouldn't do it or recommend it to anyone who I considered a friend.

bs... an evo is fine as a first car. My first car was an evo and I was perfectly fine with it. People on this forum make evos look like ****in supercars. Its not that serious... as long as he's not a ******** driver

Agreed, especially when it's blatantly to get your post count up.

Don't let him do it. Show him all the bad stories on this evom. My first Pro Rally was cut short by an other first time ralliest that could not control him self in a high powered AWD car. His co-driver did not make.
