Question 160 HP for daily drive reasonable?

What would be a reasonable goal for a daily drive I expect to last me about 3 or 4 years? I'm thinking around 160hp is a reasonable goal for the USDM Lancer. Do you all think I can reach that goal with the basic bolt-ons, plus header, downpipe, high-flow cat, susp, and MAYBE a bigger throttle body? I NEED this car to last me for a while.

EDIT: That's 160 HP to the flywheel. Makes it more reasonable I guess.

no, you need turbo, you will never get that at the wheels, i take that back to get our NA engine to do that would cost more than a turbo.

Good Question...

I am thinking that a bigger throttle body, with better breathing (ram air, cold air) full exhaust (header to muffler) may get you around 30-40 HP.

Give it a try, I will be doing that soon before a turbo.

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse you. I was talking about HP at the flywheel, not HP put to the ground. I know 160 put to the ground would be alot more difficult.

160 at the flywheel will be more than just bolt ons, but should be very doable NA.

I would think so, adding 10hp here and 15hp there. should be doable (is that a word).

Yep and yep. CAI, cam shaft (and maybe gear), bored throttle body, maybe swap out the MAS or get something with a wider restrictor plate (with accompanying air/fuel management)and some fuel upgrades, header back exhaust and you'd probably be close, if not there.

Am I forgetting anything?

Good bolt-on parts AND good tuning a/f ratio should get you there with good reliability

Tru dat! It's all about psychin up your car...make it think it's fast, and it will be fast right? I'm thinkin it should add about 10 to 15 ponies.

HAHA...sorry, I just had to add that in. But seriously, I'm more into performance than dressing up or "trickin out" your ride. Anyway, you said earlier CAI...I was thinking of CAI before but decided to just go with short ram. I'm trying to calculate the approximate gains with each mod. The intake plus the header back exhaust should gain me about 15 horses (maybe a little more?). The throttle body should gain me maybe another 10? How much can cam shaft and fuel upgrades gain me?
