this topic has been beaten pretty good with heated debates. what i will tell you people may argue:
the stock speakers are 6.5's, HOWEVER, the mounting holes measure 7" & the only speakers that fit without modding are euro-din's which are 178mm (7"). alot of 6.75's & 6.5's come with trim rings but they are all too small. i fabbed trim rings for the doors for my components & have pics in the "my new speakers" thread. the other issue is if your trim ring isn't thick enuff for the new speakers your front windows won't roll down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
remember you have a Japanese car so US stuff doesn't always work...
