next mod for my car....?

okay so my car is mystic blue color, and i have no exterior mods on it yet. Im now debating myself if i should black out my headlight housing, im not sure how they would turn out and im also scared of the process (putting the darn headlights in the oven!?). I also want to swap my ES cluster with a white face ones like the ones on OZ and RA, and i want to know what happens to my total mileage (the odometer) after switching. Oh and can anybody post some pics of their car in mystic blue color with blacked out headlights? thanks

Hmm.. I would get them done professionally unless you have done something similar before with headlights/taillights. If they get too hot, some parts could melt, or when you put them back together they will get water/condensation in them. As for the gauge cluster, when you swap with another, you get the milage from the new cluster. example: your current cluster has 15k miles, the new one has 30k miles.. then you switch, you now have 30k miles. As for mods to enhance the exterior of your car, a cheap things would be dark window tint, carbon fiber reflectors, carbon fiber gas door, vinyl sun strip above windshield, possibly underbody neons if your into that. More expensive side- for your color car, white 17'' rims with 40 thickness tires, lowering springs, cf spoiler, HID headlight upgrade.
Hope this helps you out. Check out my ride for some ideas. Oh yea, on this Thursday, Mar. 3rd.. check out my ride. It will be updated. I got something big going in it. *wink*

With the lights, do it yourself. It is easy. Real easy. Look at the pics in my profile and see for yourself. Follow the instructions to the letter and take your time. Three hours and 10 bucks in materials and you'll have nice blacked out housings.

You could get reverse indaglo gauges and that looks pretty cool... and I think you don't lose your milage... but you'd have to ask someone that knows because I don't care enough right now to look for you.

Don't be nervous about the headlight mod. I opened my Evo housing to remove the amber inserts before a lot of people starting getting into this. I took a big chance by doing it, as I attempted it by feel and knew it work only in theory. It worked great and is easy. It would make a drastic, custom change. Go for it.

I'm almost sure that the cluster swap will swap the mileage like wiretap said. A few people have done it. I hope one of them sees this and replies. As for the headlights, there is one member on these boards that color matched his headlight housing to his blue lancer. I can't find his name, but that would be another alternative.
