The Evo9 comes in 3 models:

Evo9 RS - only white, no AC, no 17"wheels, no Recaro, 5-speed, LSD diff.
Evo9 GT - the same as RS, but with options. 5-speed grearbox, LSD diff. etc.
Evo9 GSR - Streetcar with all options, and you can get wheels from MR etc.
(GSR comes with 6 speed gearbox, Super AYC etc.)

But in US they have make 3 other models:

Evo RS - maybe simular to Evo9 RS, but maybe not light weight as Japan ver.
Evo 9 - The same as GSR I think
Evo MR - The same as GSR but with options lik the MR.

In the US they have call the normal Evo9 with MR options for MR.
In EU and Japan the MR is only a standard Evo9 whit wheels
The best thing in the US are LSD diff on all models.

ALL Evo9 models have alu roof and good suspension, Bilstein suspension is a option, on GT and GSR. You got that as option on all models, but not on RS. This model is made mostly for rallycar building.

MR comes with this standard. But you got all that options on Evo9 GSR.
So I will say that the US model is only a Evo9 with all options, sold as a MR.

Who cares what you get in Japan......Unless you have money falling out your **** you won't give two ***** about JDM pieces parts.

The main factors in purchasing a US market EVO are HIDs, SSL, 6SPD, Aluminum roof, VG, BBS, and power options. The funny thing is RS is only better in a drag race and the GSR is the all around best performer. If you ask me...the MR is really only has BLING factor.

Sorry for that the US version is very strange. Why schould MMC use more time to
build a model without the alu roof. All other models in the world have alu roof.
Maybe the Evo9 US spec has a Evo8 chasis.

I think the rub with the aluminum roof is the sunroof. Because the regular IX (non RS or MR) have the option for the sunroof package they don't get the aluminum roof. It's probably more costly/difficult to do a sunroof with the aluminum roof panel.

Why would you say that? When this thread was made, no one knew if there was going to be an MR or not.
