Brand new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm totally new to this place and lookin for help. I bought the 2002 Yellow OZ back in August and would like to upgrade, only prob, I'm poor. (Not really but as far being poor goes, I'm poor) I have a limited budget, but still wanna make my car faster and look nice. Anybody have any suggestions for money savin ways to soup up muh car? (and just cuz I'm a girl doesn't mean I don't like it crazy style)

Add the Evo VII spoiler for looks. It also gives ya 35hp to the wheels. Than get RRM's Test Pipe, Bored out Throttle Body, Cold Air Intake (Injen, AEM, WeaponR), the 2.25" Stainless-Steel Cat-Back exhaust with the muffler of your choice (just please dont use Flowmaster) try Magnaflow, Spark Plugs (Denso Iridium) and Plug wires (Magnecore), Lowering Springs (Eibach, Tein, etc.), RRM K-Bar, RRM Rear Anti-Sway Bar, RRM Turbo (if you have the dough).
There isn't much of a money saving way to improve your car unless you wanna go the generic route with your parts. If you're looking for a relatively cheap first mod, I'd go for an intake.
You can get one off of eBay or DIY, but I think the biggest problem with these options is a lack of support for the air filter. Do a search, and you'll find a thread about someone's eBay filter getting all messed up cuz it wasn't supported correctly, causing it to break. For the most part, just getting rid of the stock air box will do wonders alone, so just be careful and make sure your intake of choice isn't left dangling in the air where the stock air box used to be and you should be ok.
Another real cost-effective mod would be getting a test pipe. RRM has em for $69 and it's prolly the best bang for the buck mod out there. However, I'm not sure of it's overall effectiveness if you were to do it first, without getting either an intake (to increase air flow in) or getting an exhaust (to increase air flow out). Pairing it up with these mods will make it that much more effective, but you probably won't feel as much of a difference compared to an intake.

if you happen to get an intake that is all aluminum (a la procarparts.com mirage 1.8L intake) you can probably put a couple of coats of heat resistant paint on the outside to keep it from soaking up engine bay heat.
First thing I would do is sell it and buy one of a dozen other cars that offer much better performance without even adding any aftermarket stuff. I don't know who buys these "OZ Lancers". They're really pathetic.
Well Mr Cordwood, lots of people out there buy these "OZ Lancers" because they dont want to be followers and get the GT Mustangs, or the Civic SI's. Think before you speak. It's also a different type of car that people can modify to make look hot. And when I bought mine, I didn't plan to do anything under the hood, but instead just make it look so ridiculously sick. It's not all about performance and HP, but at least for me, it's looks that gets people to walk over to your car in a parking lot, but you probably have no idea how that feels considering you seem like the type of guy that throws on a full cat adds a supercharger and thinks their car is hot. Get lost sport, bash some other forum.
let me guess......this guy drives a civic?!?!
lol...why go into a
forum and bash their cars?!?!?
some people dont like to follow!! i love pulling up to sonic, (local hangout), and not having the same car as 10 other people!!! THINK before you open

okay back to the regular thread... I want to know more about performance effects from adding the testpipe and intake. So I would get better airflow? What is that going to do for me, more horsepower? Will another 10 horsepower actually make a difference?

)))) Good luck.
