2005 RS Package

Depending upon where you go (including inside these forums), it looks like the RS Package on the 2005 RS is either standard equipment or an optional package.

Does anyone know if the RS Package is now standard on all new 2005 RS's?

Mitsu Website

When did you purchase your RS? I think this is a fairly recent development. The mitsubishi web site says the items formerly in the RS Package are now standard on the RS, and the price has been bumped up to reflect this. Can anyone verify this?
Thanks

Aluminum Pedals, Aluminum Shift Knob, and the Turbo boost gauge kit are the specific items I am talking about. They are now listed as standard equipment on the 05 RS at www.mitsucars.com.

Are we talking about evo RS?
I bought mine about 2 months ago (March). It is was hard to get any RS back then. I found only 2 in entire Los Angeles area. I don't know about now. The RS package gives you 3 gauages, almuminum pedals and shift knob. It was about 500 dollars option. not much worth it but It was already put on the car by the dealer.

Hey Thanks!
I feel like I negotiated a decent deal on a spanking new 05 RS that will be trucked in from California. Initially I assumed that equipment would be on the car, but have since begun to wonder since this does not seem to be true for all 2005's. It would not be quite as good of a deal if that equipment is not on the car, but I can live with it if that is the case.

I see that 3 gauges are still an option. You get a turbo boost gauge only instead.
I have Oil temp and voltage meter in addition. Oil temp meter is kinda cool. It will be a hassle to install with after market kit.
Good luck! I like my RS a lot ... stealthy without that over the top wing, light weight and mod friendly.
Only downside is no power doors and locks. I installed one power lock on my driver side so I can activate with my car alarm. That door lock actuator(actaully that is whole door lock assembly for evo) was 200 dollars from Mitsu.

I'm pretty sure that the turbo boost gauge kit is in actuality the 3 gauge cluster of which you speak. I see the gauge package as an option though, so I see exactly why you would say that. I'm not 100% because the 05 RS description has changed like 3 times in the past 4 months! Man I hope my car comes with that stuff!

since all the prewiring is there, could you not swap the stock dash for the gruppe-s one and use the existing wiring to put new and bigger gauges up top? I would get the package just for the wiring being in place already... but I guess it is standard now so
