lookin for WIDE and White rims

i want wide tires on my car... and white rims. I am not fully knowledgable about cars, so I am hoping you guys will help me out here with some information.

What are the dimensions of tires that are easily attained. ie. How wide can i get my tires... like i want tires wide like that of a porshe. Also i am not trying to be too pimpin' with my car, so i think 16" would be fine... 17 maybe to excessive for me. Do they make 16.5?

I am also trying to keep my budget down... so any suggestions that way... would be very helpful.

you can fit 17's just fine without rubbing even if its lowered 1.5" but youre not gonna get anywere near as wide as porshe tires unless you wanna start cutting stuff

If you go wider than 7.5" wheel with a 215 width tire you're going to encounter rubbing problems. You may even rub if you lower the car, but I've heard different responses from different people with different setups. Try reading some of the existing threads on wheels and you should get plenty of opinions.

Moving to Newbie Forum since this could have been easily answered by doing a little leg work.

You tell 'em Hobie.

Anyhoo - flat out you ain't gonna get wheels wide as a Porsche. Just a fact. My stepmom has a 911 and the wheels are about a 245 / 265 or so. Plus, getting wide wheels would be counter - productive because you would have to compensate for all of that rolling resistance from the size of the tire.

Now if you're looking for wheels, wheelmax .com and tirerack .com have good stuff with 16 and 17 inch sizes. Their prices are pretty reasonable too.

Good luck
