Nice but no thanks. It is a little flashy for my taste.

eBay listing of car here

This looks like a scam: "can't answer email to the registered email address for the eBay account so send it to a Hotmail addy, I'll sell it for $5600 if you agree to my terms". Then, take a look at the pics of the eBay car compared to the pics on ROJA's website of the car - it ain't even close.

http://www.rojawheels.com/archive/pr...ilename=lancer

The pics of the car used in the eBay listing are of the Pepsi Street Motion MR (http://www.pepsistreetmotion.com/). According to the website, the MR isn't even a prize. Some Chrysler POS is.

Scam? Or am I missing something that makes this legit?

oldest scam in the book. if you proceed they'll point you to a very legit looking, but completely fake fund transfer page. one you give them all your info, you're screwed.

Digging a bit more, I found the same car listed on ROJA's web site:

http://www.rojawheels.com/garage/pro...p?filename=evo

Apparently, they've done a few for Pepsi. On another web site, I found that the car was allegedly awarded in October 2005. So, it appears that it could conceivably be on the market.

However, the low ball price and odd email situation still smells fishy.

I went to the Pepsi website and asked Lisa , the Pepsi cyber chick, if the eBay listing was a scam. Her smile turned to a frown and she told me "My purpose is to help you use this site and talk about Pepsi."

But ask her if she's single and her smile comes back. Apparently she doesn't know anything about a Dirty Sanchez, because she continued to smile after that question, too. Ask her if she's bi, and you'll get a raised eyebrow.

Uhhh, what were we talking about again?

they offered this as a prize car last yr, some old guy won it.
but this is a scam because for 1 they said USD, that means they're from another country, and the really low price.

Hell, I'd drive it with pride! I love(d) Pepsi (can't drink any longer due to stomach problems)! I still support the Pepsi company by purchasing Sierra Mist.

I may be the only one, but I think that's one hot lookin' car!
