Wing Clearcoat Poll.
I wax my wing often but due to some bad luck I see a few spots that looks hazy. I took it to Max Madsen Countryside, the dealer where I bought my 03, and they told me its normal and to go away. I hate them so much you can't get anything serviced there. One day Im going to go back and just start yelling and protesting outside the dealership when I have some free time. They anger me so much and makes me feel so much regret for buying my car there.
Mine is in the garage if I'm not driving it and it only has 15,000miles so thats what makes me think its more than just not taking care of it. I had a VIS carbon fiber hood on a civic that was never garaged for almost 2 years and it still looked great.
There's no reason to wax twice a month. The gelcoat on the wings of many of the early 03's is defective, plain and simple. If it wasn't Mitsu sure wouldn't be replacing them at $1300 a pop.
03, 14,500 miles, no issues. But I am so **** I wash and wax it pretty much weekly, and give it a full detail, including polish and wax, 3-4 times a year. Zymol has a wax called japon, specially formulated for the paint formula used on japanese cars, and the wing has only seen that since the day I took it home. But yeah, I would never leave bird $hit on my car for a week, prolly not even overnight if for some reason I got up a 2AM and saw it on my car. It'd get washed at the 24 hr DIY car wash down the street. haha. I am nuts.
