Newbie question (sorry everyone just trying to learn)

Ok well I just got a WW Evo VIII. I am coming from a Acura RSX so this is a big step. BOOST!!!!!!! Anyways I have some cash and I wanna start modding this thing so here is what I am doing first with performance...I just want you guys to tell me how this will do for power...do you guys recommend doin something else going with a diff. setup?? Just let me know thanks guys for helpin this newbie out

HKS Race Suction Kit w. I/C Pipe
HKS SSQV BoV w. HKS SSQ Recirculation Kit
HKS Down Pipe
Ultimate Racing Hi Flow Cat
HKS Hi Power Exhaust
Mitsubishi Advaced ECU Flash

Hmm...I lovvve HKS

Also with these mods will I need to tune my Evo? The only reason I ask is because where I live its hard to find a AWD dyno

Anyways let me know how this looks as a start guys later
Bobby

congrats dude, but as far as tuning you could do it but you wont see gains that big, w/ my mods (in sig) i did not see a "big" gain from tuning it, but it does help

I'd ditch the intake, IC pipe, and BOV for some cams. Should be about the same price. Then you'd definitely need a tune but you could always send out your ECU and get a reflash like you listed. Not as efficient as a custom tune, but hey, sometimes it's the only thing you can do.

This is my opinion..Get you ECU re-flashed first, unless you plan on buying a s-afc to tune your car..You will see a very nice increase in power with the reflash (tune) alone..The reflash will also support your exhaust and intake mods but I don't think the HKS exhaust is a full 3 inch just so you know..Also the BOV is ok but don't expect a power increase..With a reflash intake and exhaust you should see about a 40hp increase. I have seen a gain of about 30hp with a dynoflash on my 05 stock but there are others tuners that can re-flash your ecu as well..

I have heard good things about the new FORGE EVO bov kit, also works, and aps seem to be working well..You can also go with the JDM mitsu MR bov which is an upgrade from stock..

Plastic and designed for comfort rather then performance. It has a relatively soft spring.

since im a newbie as well what is the Advanced ECU flash? do you just send in ur ECU to get it reprogrammed? i would think you would just use a piggyback such as an Apexi SAFC II???

well $300 hks suction+$200 I/C pipe+ $200 APS BOV=$700+$0 for install
or HKS cams$600+$100 arp headstuds(for protection)+$300 injectors+$100 fuel pump=$1100+install+loss of warranty=priceless
not really the same to me.

no bov needed untill running boost higher then 20lbs. upgrade the whole ic when you get a bigger turbo or cams. upper i/c pipe gives no gains to replace, but lower is nice. intake is not needed, a drop in air filter in our stock box is fine. you seem to want the noise so get a cone filter and replace the box but not the pipe. intakes need to be tuned by a flash or fuel management system. tune is not needed untill you get either an I/C, cams, alchy, turbo, or injectors, etc... exhaust, boost control, fuel control. id go in that order. then worry about cooling, cams, alchy, turbo, stroker, weight, and where to put all those trophies.

Start off with a 3" turboback exhaust, then an MBC with a boost gauge, then an intake, fuel pump, cams, headstuds, alcohol injection Maybe a Utec or somthing to have somone tune, that'll be enough to do some serious damage
