Why buy rims 1st???
I've notice there are a lot of Evo owners buying rims 1st. Why did you buy rims 1st? Just don't like the stockies going more for looks? I'm just confused cause a set of wheels usally run $800-$1k for some basic wheels. And that $800-$1k can get you a lot more Hp/Tq.

EDIT: Just like I regret spending $550 on my Alpine deck.

I'm personally just thinking about powder coating my stock rims.
It's not like they're crappy rims. Then again beware if you add any kind of exterior or interior mod cause it'll be "rice" to a lot of people

Anyhow, back on subject: IMO, I just can't bring myself to buy the $1500+ wheels only when I could get so much more "Performace" mods for $1500. Guess it comes down to; "To each their own."

Wheels will be the first thing going on my car, because my warranty for the powertrain is still in effect. I have performance mods sitting in the garage waiting to go on, but I do not want to void out the engine and trans portion of my warranty just yet (only 15K on the odo.). Plus, I have all-seasons for the winter on the stockers, and don't want to switch from tire to tire on the same rim.
I don't really see how throwing on a nice set of wheels is rice by the way.

yeah, people on this site are obsessed with calling any visual mods "rice". the evo is an awesome car to begin with, i say who cares if someone is satisfied with the power of the stock evo and just wants to visually upgrade his/her car until s/he gets bored of it?

Some like to go for a different look. A stock EVO is plenty powerful for most drivers. I would love to spend $1K in power mods, but I really wouldn't use it. I'd probably get more satisfaction with rims. Besides, pick up some RAYS gram lights, and you'll be almost as quick as power adders. I don't mind the stock Enkei's, but I just wish they were gunmetal.
