Where do you work at?
Many threads on this subject of age/income/job/monthly payments, here are a couple, there are more:

Quick Summary:
There are a lot of people really stretching it to buy an Evo, which isn't a very good idea because maintenance or modding is an expense that many don't think of. Another thing that doesn't come up in these threads is debt/income ratio. I mean someone could make only like $20K a year, but not have any rent or anything major to pay and afford it just fine. Another person could make $150K a year but have a huge mortgage and lots of credit card debt to pay and not really be able to afford it without accruing more debt...
For an Evo, you can expect $5-600 in payment plus insurance (especially if you're a younger male <25) plus maintenance plus gas, easily pay $1000 or more a month when all is said and done.
I'm a lucky son of a ***** because I bought a house a few years ago near DC that has nearly tripled in value, and I cashed out a bit for some home improvements and paid off all my cars, debt, etc. while lowering my monthly house payments. My wife and I both work, and have no kids (DINK)...
By the way, I'm a Laotian Sumo wrestler.

I'm 23, single, and live at home. The second two are key, trust me. I make around $26,000 a year or so. I fix broken things for Sears. I honestly probably shouldn't have been able to afford my Evo, but I made it happen because I wanted it so bad. It took a full year of saving every dollar I earned just to have a down payment.
I'm 22 i work full time selling Mazdas, mitsubishis, and suzukis. I also work part-time for my parents retail store. My payments are 408 and insurance is 240 a month. Not bad considering some of the insurance quotes i got.
