ugghhh, that SUCKS blowing things up at the track! i feel for ya! all the guys are looking at you and you think they're thinging "f'n girls at the f'n track"
cuz you shut it down for a half hour and they paid good money to get in and by the time they cleaned it up it started to rain...
i'm guilty of that...
3 times.
trannie fluid from the white gsx, coolant from the silver gst and water from spraying the innercooler on the evo. but they were much nicer than i thought. a few of the older guys came over to see if they could help out, just said "you know, it happens to everyone, dont worry about it." that was cool. they weren't happy about the water though. that was intentional. i didnt know the water would stay in the plastic pieces underneath the car and dump a few gallons on the way... keep that in mind before you spray your front mount.
anyhow, those are really good numbers from your 8 with "a few mods." do you have an aftermarket clutch? i went 12.8@109 with afc2, turbo-back, airfilter, 22 psi (didnt have the lm1 to tune, so i wasnt sure what was safe). i had REALLY bad launches and the clutch was already slipping and i'm still kind of learning to launch, but my boyfriend was running 12.7@109, so i must have been doing the best i can being only that far off. he says i just need to shift faster. i had a 1.8 60'. i know the stock ic was restricting and i never got it to the track after the bigger one was installed...
but 12.0@116 is alot better than 12.7 what else did you have done? and how hard are you launching?
my clutch and flywheel (act & prostreet) should be here tuesday and my boyfriend says it will be a REAL task to push it down. (of course i wont find out for a few more months until the salt is gone!) he had a 2100 in his laser and it was a biatch to drive. what clutches do you ladies have and how well does it cooperate?

Grew up in a racing family and married a racing man.... so looks like racing is in my future, and my MR fits the bill these days!
There has got to be more gals out there, hopefully they quit hiding!!!

that's very cool you have that kind of a racing background. i never even SAW the 1/4 mile until i was 22. all they had in my town growing up was big, ugly trucks and z28's. wish i had a better understanding when i was 16. probably would have kept me out of trouble!
what kind of racing did you do with the vw's? road or 1/4? we have a few vw junkies here in our little town, but nothing really fast. just wondering what they are capable of when modified "correctly"
i have parts piling up too and i'm just itching to share with everyone, but i know its bad luck to "count your chickens!" good luck with your projects! maybe if all goes well i'll see you at the shootout.
are there any other well known evo / dsm events that you girls (and guys) go to? ive heard of mitsubishi owners.. something or other. anyone go to that?
we usually go to the carlisle show in PA just because it isnt TOO far. it was at the penn universtity this past year. my boyfriend and i went with a couple, younger (single) guys and they LOVED the college town! they were a blast! hooting and yelling and generally being obnoxious boys at all the girls walking around!
good clean fun. i think we had more fun driving around than at the show itself!but ive never been to any major shows. we have a "fast ferry" here in rochester now that goes directly to toronto, so it might be nice if we could hit a few this year in lovely canadia, eh?

At the track, my sweetheart (as well as the sponsor of the car) was able to get the car back together relatively quickly so I was able to get a few runs at 12.3, 12.4. That was it for the night. I did have men coming up to me congratulating me because it was quickest EVO they had seen so far. I was a little surprised by that statement but hey-that's fine by me!
Those runs were at Englishtown, NJ but the quickest runs to date were at Lebanon Valley Draway in West Lebanon NY. It was a track rental and the 12.0 run was the last we could get out of it because the clutch did start slipping. I tried for an 11 second run but the clutch wouldn't hold.
This was with the spare tire and almost a full tank of gas that day (we were not planning on running it-it was a last minute thing so the gas was already in the car! Oh well, whaddya gonna do!
As far as mods are concerned, the upper IC pipe was made by Hass Turbo (my boyfriends company) as well as the intake pipe. There is a Hass Turbo manual boost controller and it was set around 20-22 psi. It wasn't holding steady so it's hard to tell.
They took they exhaust off at the track because I did not have one installed on the car. (Only 530 miles on it so far-racing with the temporary plate!)
The last thing is a Hass Tuned e-manage. So, all in all, there were 4 mod's done to it.
I have had a little experience under my belt with drag racing but not much. I have never ran a time such as this. I believe it is still the fastest for the modifications.
The 60 FT on that run was a 1.74. With the set up the way it was, the clutch, and the full weight, I don't think that the 60ft is going to get much better.
So that's my story and here are some pics.

(notice the temp plate in the window!)

PS- launching?...pretty hard. The limiter was taken out and I was launching around 6 grand.
Take care!

Nothing new parts wise for me. I ordered my evo a christmas present back in late October, and I still dont have everything at my house yet. Oh well. I got a full system, not including the box, i have yet to build that. and i also ordered a remote start keyless security. still not in, waiting on a few parts.
sweet! i got to drive a friend's silver 8, much like yours
and it felt good to be back in an evo. my car's been in the garage for a month or two and i'm definitely missing it. heck of alot different than the frontier!

My g/f drives my Evo a few times a week and she will race anything that wants to go. Fastest cars so far are 2 C6 Vettes, Bmw Z8, 03 Cobra(From Stop) and a Porsche Carrera S. All got beat down.
