I am officially an owner now!

Hi all,

Got the paperwork all complete and I officially own a 2006 IX MR in Rally Red! I am an old school DSM'er and it feels good to be back around a 4g63! So far this car seems to have alot of potential, and I can't wait to start modding it.

Just wanted to introduce myself. For more background about me just go to my website in my sig!

Hope to speak with you guys soon.

Girlie

Yeah, I screwed up when I put it in and never got to fixing it yet.

As for what I paid...

34500 for the car itself, I was upside down on my trade by about 3k so it ended up 37500, then TTL ran about 2300. They waived a couple of the fees on that end. All in all I am happy with the deal I got. Kind of a funny story as well. We went on Saturday and where approved at 8% for 84 months. The deal was at sticker price, which I did not have a big problem paying. Went in today to do paperwork and finalize everything and the guy raises the interest rate to 11% and the term down to 72 months. I was extrememly pissed. We called another dealer and then started working a deal there. The easily got the 8% interest and price I wanted for a payment. We let the 2 dealers fight over the deal and this is what we ended up with. Later come to find out from a salesman at the lot, the finance guy jacked up the interest to make a profit for himself. When it was all said and done, he not only lost the commision (had the other salesman do the deal) but he sold the car for way less than he had it sold on Saturday! Guess thats what you get for being greedy.

I to just picked up a base model 9 Monday night. I had an STi that would put down just 400 awhp with 100 octane. The EVO feels much better with the suspension, but the STi's tranny felt a bit more smooth. I don't plan on modding the EVO the way I did my STi. It had all the APS stuff on it and it ran like a champ. I think with just a reflash and exhaust will keep me happy for quite a while. Still in the break in period and the 9 will not be a daily driver.

Ouch, 8% for 84 months!!! If I was a salesman, I'd have been fighting for that, too!! Holy crap, I hope no one else thinks it's ok to finance a car for 7 years.

$34500+$3000+$2300 = $39800 for 84mos@8% = Total interest paid over life of loan: $12,307.83

Total cost of 06 Evo IX MR = $52,107.83

For reference, I paid full MSRP for my 05 MR without a trade-in, financed $36000 for 60mos@4% = Total interest paid over life of loan: $3,769.94

Total cost of 05 Evo VIII MR = $39,769.94

So, I agreed to a higher purchase price, but paid $12,400 less in total. After 4 full years of paying $620/mo, you will still owe $22,300 on it.

Mine is 72 months, not the original 84. I guess the intrest rates are pretty crappy now, most everyone I talked too said it was around 7-8% without a 'special' deal. Anyhow, I always pay extra each month so it will be lower than that when said and done.
