So I'm picking up my IX APEX SILVER SSL tomorrow.

Hello fellow enthusiasts,

Just a little bit about my situation. I use to be a turbo RSX-s owner. The vehicle was heavily modded and dynoed 429whp at 17psi. However, traction was a huge issue in 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear . The frustrations finally reached its limits so I decided to sell her and move on to a stable AWD turbo platform. In comparison, I can say that the RSX has a much better shifter feel and interior layout, but I'm more than willing to sacrifice.

After searching for weeks and haggling with sales reps, i've found a price that satisfied my pockets, $32,600. What can I say, the subaru dealership wouldn't give me a test drive. Those discriminating salesmen could've possibly sold me an Sti. Their loss, my gain.

Good job! The IX w/SSL is:

IX MSRP - 31,399
SSL - 3,000
Dest Charge - $595

Total = $35k. So, $2400 under MSRP is great for such a new release.

Congradulations on your purchase. I am in Boca Raton where are you located? Also what dealership did you buy the car from?

I just moved to Altanta and will be purchasing it up here. Just get a hold of a few dealerships and deal with them over the phone so you won't have to argue for hours at the dealership. Remember, the best deals are given at the very end of the month. I just got a better deal than expected.

Just curious here, did you actually get to test drive the car or are you judging based on a stand still run-thru of the gears? Because if you did get to test drive your evo, you're one lucky guy...you'll love the car, welcome to the family

I test drove a regular IX without SSL and that was more then enough to convince me.

wow. another rsx-s owner going to an Evo. i had a black one with i/h/e and k-pro. the only gripes i have about the evo is that (stock at least) there is not enough power off the turbo. The rsx was nice because you had instant throttle response.

everyone kept telling me "turbo lag this" and "turbo lag that" and i didn't care much til i actually had to deal with it.

The turbo lag isn't that bad compared to my previous 60-1 setup and having traction is always a plus.
