glovebox prob... must be a noob.

alright, this is crazy and stupid, therefore i know it goes in the newbie section... please get the flaming done and then help!

k so the other day i put my reg/ins. in my glovebox, and shut it. seemed like no prob. then, the next day i went to put another paper in there, and it wouldnt open! the glovebox is stuck shut for some reason and i cannot figure it out; i think its important toget it open so that i dont get pulled over and have to explain to the officer why i cant give him my crap.
looking from below, it appears that something (a wire) should be attached to the handle, but it is not. i pull and nothing atall happens. i do not know what to do to get this off. maybe someone has experience in this (haha yea right) or maybe a service manual shows how to disable the latch.. i dont want to resort to breaking into my glovebox, but i will; then i will have to patch it up and just end up modding something cool into it. i'm not afraid to do that if i cant get it...

help the noob!!!!
oh, its my 03 lancer es if that makes a diff!

If the es has the same glovebox as the EVO, if you don't put things just right you will poke the latching mechanism through things and it will stick. Good luck getting it open.
