I am back home

Hi everyone,
First off let me say that this is a wonderful site for information for an owner of the evo. Now my tale. I bought an 03 white evo when they first came out. I absolutely loved this car. My favorite by far. I'm no kid and have had many cars, but the evo was the best and most fun. In fact, it's the only car I've ever owned that I was perfectly happy with. Then my son started driving and soon wanted a camaro SS. There was no way i was going to let my 18 year old drive a rear wheel drive high performance piece of crap, especially with our winters in CT. What could I do? I told him that I know he wanted a faster car than he had ('99 civic si) and I would rather him drive a 4 wheel drive performance car that I trusted more than a musclecar that I didn't. I gave up my car and took the civic si back. He loves the car and has modded and met Al from dynoflash and has met many people at meets. But I missed my evo. Last year I went out and bought the 2005 STI. Why? Because my son already had the evo and I thought that maybe the STI was more civilized. It's a nice car. Fast and fun. But something is missing. The ride is different. The handling is different. The rush is different. I tried and tried to love this car, but I didn't. I liked it, but not like the evo. I have watched and yearned for another evo, but couldn't justify giving up the sti which is just as nice a car as the evo. But when the 9 came out, things got harder to ignore. The more reviews that came out, the more I wanted the 9. But again, I couldn't really justify it. Christmas eve came along and I was at work and I'm looking out the parking lot and in comes a GG evo 9 mr with 3 people in it with red bow on it. What the heck is going on here and who is this lucky person with a 9 mr? The car stops and parks in front of the window and my wife and son's get out of the car. My jaw fell open and almost hit the floor. What was going on? My wife opens the door and yells Merry Xmas! She said I knew you weren't happy, so this is yours!
I was so taken back and in shock. She has taken the Sti as her car and I am back in an evo. It feels just right. I love this car. So we now have an 03 evo and an 05 Sti and on evo 9mr in the house. I'm a lucky man and I'm back home in the car I love.

Nice Christmas story, glad to have you back in the community! How does your IX compare to your STi in terms of power?

There is no question that the sti has more down low. But there is no mistaken the rush you get from the evo. The car is like an amusement ride!
