Evo 7 (rhd) front half on Evo 8?

Will this be possible? In another thread I had pictures of a buddies car who pretty much totalled it. We found the block cracked and a few other big problems. After a bit of searching we found a JDM evo 7 with everything from the front seats forward.

I don't have much if any experience with this, but will that be possible to cut then reweld that clip onto the car? What will we need to switch for RHD if it's done?

Thanks!

You don't want to attach the whole front end by welding it, lol. It is a lengthy process that, unless you are either a master mechanic, or have had experience, you won't want to undertake it. You could get pricing from a shop if you really want to do this.

you will need to remove everything in the front, dash , center console, even the frame work under the dash. I was putting my shortshifter in and the frame work right in front of the shifter base has "LHD" stamped on it. this will be the same for most of the metal under the dash. you would have to take all that out and then weld in the new RHD parts and use everything from it and hope it works. You will probably have to rewire the main ECU harness because it will be moved to the other side of the car. Good luck and keep us posted

Yeah, insurance company is coming out tomorrow, he's just going to total it and bite the bullet...

I told him to go ahead, take the money he gets from the company any buy a first or second generation and build the hell out of it. He's looking at quite a big check, enough to throw him into the 11's reliably, heh.
