I think regardless people know our cars as: Evo 9 , Evo 9 RS and Evo 9 MR. I haven't seen any problems of identity ever, we know what we have and people are aware of what is being sold out there.

The FQ 300,FQ320 and stuff like that are nothing more than a tuner putting a little package for the customer kind of like Buschur BR330 , BR350 Evos.

I wouldn't even worry, I know the Evos in Europe are 6 speeds while we get the 5 speed but it does not bother me a bit, they get a different bumper and we don't .

No need for changing either, a Evo 9 cost in Europe 49-53000 Euros, we only pay $$31500 for a regular Evo 9 here, why complaint?

Ah, the simpler days back in '03 when we just had the "Lancer Evolution", and if you really wanted to get "technical" you could call it the "VIII". No MR, no RS, no GT, no GSR....

I just bought a 06 IX (non mr, non RS) when I gave my VIN # to my insurance lady the option came up to choose between the 06 Mitsu Lancer MR and 06 Mitsu Lancer GSR. That was in ALLSTATE's computer per the VIN #. Maybe we should check a Carfax and see what they say bout our VIN.

Fine then, bring it on. Flame away, if it makes you feel better about yourself. At the end of the day, I'm still right about the name designation whether you think this thread is retarded or not.

But thanks to the people who agreed, disagreed, or didn't care but were at least respectful about it.

question-do you even drive an evo? we all know that the 8 or 9 evo is not a GSR, when some one ask what evo you got you cant say well its an MR or an RS. Also on my insurance they had the option of the MR, RS, and GSR.

I'm not gonna lie--I don't have an Evo as we speak, I am saving up money for purchasing one from either South Coast Mitsu or Huntington Beach Mitsu, hopefully this month or next month, at the latest.

I'm on my way to work, so this will be my last post for at least the majority of the day. I can respect everyone's opinions and I can take some criticism or whatever, but honestly I don't see how such flaming can come out of a question of name designation (in a Newbie/FAQ forum, at that) when there are so many threads about topics beaten to death ("best bang for the buck mod"), clutch drops at 6k rpm (reaaaaaal smart), "who can I beat from a roll" comparisons, "I was driving too fast and crashed my Evo into a wall but I learned my lesson so don't get mad at me" testimonials, etc. I'm not gonna cry about it, but honestly it's all overkill at this point. If you've already said what you wanted to say 15 posts ago, unsubscribe from this thread and go read a new one. There's no need to be a jerk every 20 minutes to the same person on a message forum that is supposed to be an online community.

Have you noticed Our (as in the Other US Evo Owners and Me) do not have JDM Cars. Hince the "MR" which Originally in Japan was the "GSR". So basically Mitsu can Call their cars whatever they want and they already tagged it MR, 8/9 (GSR), RS. USDM is Different from JDM. I guess you get mad when people call their Infiniti G35s, Nissan Skyline and their Acura Integras, Honda Integras Too? SO if you want to complain, go complain to Mitsu when you "Buy ur Evo" ok?

Learn to read ur own thread, AS said before "Mitsu has Already Tagged the 8/9, GSR and was proven by the VIN = Vehicle Identification Number (just like an SSN) that it IS TAGGED GSR! Basically an SSN is to Idenfity yourself from others, the VIN Identifies the car from other cars and when pulled up its the GSR!
