Personal Question
comming form my angle on how i see it.. i drive an Ingtegra.. the LS not even teh GSR, its been stolen before and srtipped i put most of her back to gether but she dones run the same.. and plus all i got is lie 155hp and she still has all these body issue i need to address. so i thought in stead of spending loads of cash on a slower car why not just get a acar with a slightly high payment that wont kill me but i wont be living in THAT much luxury either.. that has the performance i need. like an EVO! and be done with it. that way if i pay 575 amonth im getting a top notch car that copares to alot of the sports coups like the 350Z or te honda S2K.. etc.. to tell you the turth.. it kills me to see ppl that have nice cars and im stuggleing.. im not hating on them im upset at my self.. besides life is too short to worry about every thing. .i work hard i deserve it.. if i dig my self in a whole its my own .. right?
I would say if you want others to talk you into it, then wait a little while before getting one. You will know when the time is right and that is when you should get the car.
Also, 1950 a month is nowhere near 40k a year.
One other thing, call you insurance and get an idea of what the car will cost. That will let you put together a budget and see if it is feasible or not to get the car.

Just think very carefully before you buy it because once you have bought the car, there is no turning back and you can't sell it with the same price as you bought it even when you've only driven it for 50 miles.
Yes, definitely give it some thought before you purchase a 30k car. Personally, I would wait till you finished college, got a better full time job and wait till the latest and greatest new cars come out.
At least you have an Integra, I was driving a gold 1983 Toyota Tercel wagon!! Then I got a 1994 Honda Civic DX, after a few years of college. Finished college, got a 1998 Honda CRV EX, was on the long term college road
with a 32k salary
Got tired of that in 2000 and got a Celica GTS. Drove and auto-x'd the Celica for the last 6 years and now I got an Evo
The journey has helped me learn about cars, the way they handle and what I really want in a car.

If I were you, I would just keep the Integra racer. Your still young and going to school, so you don't want to spend every dime that you have on bills. Keep the car you have and have fun partying!

I say wait, but that's just me. If anything goes wrong, you're going to be screwed. Got any money in the bank if something happens? Save towards having about two months worth of salary in the bank as a base, put a little money towards a Roth IRA, and then worry about how many horsepower you have. Trust me, if you make bad financial decisions while you are young, it can take years to recover.
oh i got money saved for rainy days. its not like im jumping into this. i just dont wanna touch the saved money. i am very sure i can do this. no wife, no kids, only obligation to pay is phone bill my rent is really a charity thing for my uncle to help him with his motagage.. i got to a comunity college. so those bills arent that high.. i very sure i can do this.. plus my credit is good.. for a 21year old.. nothing too bad on it. plus it would only make my credit better

You don't necessarily need to buy a brand new one from the dealership either- keep your eyes open for good deals. I bought my 03 GSR with 515 miles (completely stock) on it for $24,900- the guy was getting married and needed to give up one of his cars (the fast one)- still basically brand new, but much more affordable than 30k.
Agreed! The car is high maintenance (expensive tires, lots of fuel, pads, etc) and by a year it will cost you some extra money besides the lease and insurance. BTW, if you are under 25.... then.... insurance will be a big chunk. I am 30 and still paying around $1800 per year for the car. Ouuuuch!
