Question Newbie Question

why is there no Cruise Controle on Evos? i would think that would be a logical thing to add to a car that sucks up so much gas. just wondering.. im sure you guys are gonna give me and obvious answer.... lol

The only reason it sucks up so much gas is because most people dont keep it out of boost. CC is for long road trip IMO, I would never want to drive for hours on end in the evo. To bumpy for me, so not haveing CC doenst bother me.

really is that the only reason? i know the evo is kinda bumpy im not thinking like LONG *** cross country drives but i go up north to palmdale every other week thats about 60 miles.. kinda nice to have CC

I actually wish I had it even for daily driving, and that's despite the fact I race mine on a regular basis. There is no good reason that we don't have it, but the common answer is that it's a "race car," therefore it doesn't need things like that. It's really the only standard creature comfort we're missing.

hmm.. i figured that there was more to it than that.. what RPM does the turbo kick in at? 3k?

Depends on the gear, but I hit full boost at 3800rpm in 3rd (lower in higher gears; higher in lower gears)

soo example im on the 14 free way on my merry to palmdale going at about 90.. whats the RMP on that in 6th gear?

I wish the Evo's had cruise control. I have a nice loud open 3" exhust, I am getting apex coilovers and I am taking my evo on a road trip from IL to FL, about 1300mi each way, it should be great. I with I had CC though, o well, I still love my car, and I am sure I will enjoy the trip.
