im new to the evo world...I have heard that aftermarket intakes a)give u less power b) make stock or aftermarket BOV louder? sorry if this is a stupid question...

 

I'm sorry to have to tell you this but do a search for the topic as this has been discussed many times over.

 

A) you need to tune to get the most out of any part you get
B) yeah you'll hear you BOV more often....DONT buy an aftermarket BOV! you dont need one but i mean if you want that whooshing sound its up to you.

 

everyone says "dont get aftermarket!" no difference between stock is there? BOV wise other than sound? just trying to get a feel of why people throw out this question so many times

 

When i was a newbie thats all i wanted was the whoosh sound.....sadly i admit it. Bought Greddy type rs and was a waste of money because if i had gotten an intake or even a drop-in air filter as some ppl say, you can still hear the stock BOV go off.

 

Intakes make around 10+hp after a good tune. Intakes and inlet pipes will make your bov louder. Do a search all the info you need is availible.

 

+1, but intakes should be your last bolt on because it makes such little power. But it only cost around 100
