Dealer wont let me test drive Evo? Common Practice?
Tell the guy if he wants to make a sell then he will let you test drive the car, how the hell are u supposed to buy a car not having driven it. Why would you want your credit pulled to drive a car? Not even knowing if your going to buy it yet.... Thats crazy
Most dealerships wont let you drive a new evo. However if they have a used one they are more likely let you take it for spin. When I bought my IX I didnt test drive it. I drove my friends VIII a while ago and figured it can't be worse. I was right on that note. Like some of the other guys said if you threatin them you may get your way!!!
Every dealership WILL let you test drive, And every dealership WON'T let you test drive.
It all about how you carry yourself. I myself have never been denied a test drive.

At my dealer, I walked in and asked for a broschure on the EVOs.
He walks back grabs one, and hands me the keys to one of the EVOs, and says.
"how about we go take a drive too?"
It was awsome lol. The other dealer here requires a credit check, driving history, and a $250 deposit.

I just recently as of saturday picked up a IX, I pulled in the dealership, guy came out and i test drove before ever getting a credit check. ? hmm weird. I t might of helped that i pulled up in very nice STI????? thats bull man!! good luck
for my '03 i had to go to carmax , where they had a used 03 in the lot and i took it for a spin...it had like 7K on it, so i let it rip...then the salesman says.."that'll get you to class on time!" lol
When the Evo first came out i remember one dealership parked their first one (yellow)
in the middle of the showroom and actually treated it like it was some Ferrari Enzo.
They would not let me even sit inside it let alone drive it without a credit check and bill
of sale ready to buy.
Today, you should have no problem getting a test drive but they have to be convinced
you are a serious buyer since other buyers don't want a car with too many miles on it.
