just got an evo ... need advice/help...

I got my evo in november, and I need some advice on what my first mods should be. And with the advise it would help if I could get locations and prices aswell. I have been doing my research and have a few things in mind, but would like to hear from experienced drivers. I am located in Aurora, IL.

Thx, Maaz

TBE,MBC,Fuel Pump,Flash and if you want a drop in filter ( the stock filter and intake is fine tho) should be good for 300whp.

it all depends on what u want to do with the car. most people have the mods the other guy listed & then when they get bored, they add cams, clutch, big turbo, standalone. coilovers, brakes, etc. u can follow everyone else's path or start your own. i would for sure save for the best clutch u can afford as u will need it once u get over 300whp & is really the only overkill part that is recommended. everything else is preference and/or based on cashflow...

My recommendation is the exact package in my sig. It has everything you need, but nothing you don't need. It has the exact price for the whole thing including shipping, and you know right where to order it (Buschur Racing). Just click on the link and check out the details. You can see the times gained with these parts in my sig, too.

As a side note, this same question has been asked more times than I can count. If you've really done research, you would have found this question answered hundreds of times, and you would already know what we think. My recommendation is that you actually DO research in the future before posting, then once you've found a ton of info, sift through, analyze, then ask a well-educated question instead of one that has been asked a thousand times.

I hope that link is still valid in 4.5 years / 53,000 miles because I plan on ordering this setup on the day I pass either one of those two goals.

to answer your question, this is one of the best you'll find
http://www.cs-shift.com/shortshift.htm
if you're interested in one let me know.

now to directly shoot myself in the butt....why is your first mod that you're looking at going to be a short shifter? i'd first take a look at something a little more practical to the everyday driving of your vehicle. how about working on your exhaust system? it is a turbo car...

Probably when you said this...

"Appreciate the help! Just wondering though, whats a good short shifter for the evo 8...?"

after being given a whole list of perfect mods that didn't include anything remotely close to a short shifter. You didn't comment on any of the other mods, but you asked specifically about the short shifter, thus...
