Clutch Problem!

I have clutch problems, I bought my 03 evo 8 a month ago used with 50.000 miles on it, anyways, there's is a noise with the clutch everytime I let go to it, it sounds like is scraching my tranny or something and is really anoying, but most of the time it does it when the car is cold. I ask the guy who I bought it from and he said it was an aftermarket clutch but he doesn't know what brand or nothing. the car runs good, but that freaking noise is annoying, which I don't know what kind of clutch I have so can u guys please help what I should get?

Thanks

If you can afford it get the RPS dual carbon clutch. I have at least 20 hard launches on it and I will tell you that the hotter you get it the better it grabs. It is expensive, but you know what they say, you get what you pay for. Just my .02 cents

Before you go running out and buy new clutch I must say I think this noise is normal. I have had this noise on my car with the car 100% stock from 2k miles. My car now has 25k on it and I have had my Exedy twin in for the last 16k. The noise is still there. It happens when letting out the clutch (clutch pedal 1/2 way out). You can get it to stop or at least not make it audible by rev matching.

It doesnt happen all the time, but probably a good 60-75% of the time. My service manager (DRAGIN) on these boards has had 3 evo's come in with the same exact noise. One was even a brand new IX. Im beggining to think this is just a "common" problem and there is nothing to worry about.

Depends on really what he plans to do with the car.... i wouldn't tell him to go out and buy a $2700 dollar clutch without knowing cause that's just crazy. What do you plan to do with the car?

He asked me how much it was and where I got it, so I told him. If he wants to spend the money thats up to him.
