ipod using stock head unit
Anyone have any luck using your ipod to your stock head unit? i have the fm transmitter but that thing sucks. i went to mp3yourcar.com and they haven't yet to make one for the evo. i've called twice and they say they are workin on it.
i want to hard wire it straight to the head unit so that i dont get any static. i hate the fm transmitter, and i don't want to get an aftermarket head unit.
any suggestions?

Instead of the wireless FM transmitter get a wired one that plugs directly into the antenna input and power and ground, before I got my aftermarker radio I had one with an almost flat toggle switch, to turn it off and on, I mounted it one the top side of the pocket right below the ac/heating controls. You couldn't even see it. It works the same as the wireless just with alot better sound, no static and cost about 25 bucks. My buddy does installs for a living and when he installs overhead video with the stock head units that's what they use. Hope this helps.

i got the alpine with the adapter for the ipod, installed for under 400, ipod sits in the glove box, and it's awesome you can control everything fron the deck and it's very user friendly
well, if your going to get an aftermarket deck just get one with and auxilary input and you can plug whatever you want into it, I use mine mostly for my MP3 but I also use it for my portable DVD .
