Ok the name is Tim. I am a little over halfway through my third tour and I am getting out a couple months after I get back so to celebrate still being alive I am going to treat myself to an 06 EVO and a few lil things. What do I need to do if I do some basic bolt ons like up and down pipes and intake and exhaust. Does she need tuning with everything I add. I appreciate any info. I use to be a Honda Guy (not the ricer 4 way flasher type) but I think I have found the fastest way to the end of the road...any advice is appreciated.Thanks.....

 

First thing, Thank you for serving our country.
Second if you want to go fast on a budget, get the warrtallon/buschure package. It will have you deep into the 12s for short money.
And since your new here I'll give you a little heads up. Do your searchs before you ask to many questions and never never never ask about a BOV, you will never hear the end of it. The stock bov for that car is fine.

I'd go to South Coast mitsu if you haven't already to get an Evo. They're sayin around 30k out the door for one. A turbo back exhaust with a flash for it puts you well into the 12s on an evo IX. Not so sure about adding an intake though.. and please.. don't do a BOV.

 

I promise I will never ask about a BOV. I am looking at the Warr/Buschur package as a nice start to a soon ongoing and everlasting upgrade. I have heard about this south coast Mitsu and I need to know who,what,where,when and how much. I live in So Cal and can definitely have one shipped for the price I would pay out in Ca. I want my moneys worth and the cheaper I get it the more I am going to upgrade. I do have one question. Will they install the HID's only cause I dont want any more of the other SSL package. Oh I lied...correct me if I am wrong but when they refer to the GSR they are talking about the mid range car. You have the RS,?GSR? and the MR.

You're in SoCal anyway, so you don't have to worry about paying a lot to ship it. You can probably pick it up in person.

My package will be great for you to start out, because it has the best parts and won't require you to re-buy better parts later. Let me know when you're ready to get started after you get back in the country.

The GSR is the base model that can be had with or without SSL. If you don't get SSL, then you won't have HIDs, and no, the dealership won't install them. You would have to do your own aftermarket HIDs.

 

Or, if you are planning on buying in a couple of months, try to get your hands on a IX Gsr SE. I know this weekend I'll be at every mitsu dealer in my state and South eastern/western Mass to see if anyone wants to take a deposit on one and give me at or around invoice pricing. They are rumored to be out in Sept.

 

Putting down a deposit and asking for invoice at the same time doesn't make much sense. You're saying, "Hey, this is a new hot Evo that I want to reserve as soon as the first one comes in, but no one else will want to buy it, so give me invoice. plz!" There's not much bargaining power when you put down a deposit to get one of the first ones that arrive...

 

Is the south coast mitsubushi you are talking about in Costa Mesa Ca....cause if it is and I hope you are I live 2 blocks away from it. Its off of harbor about 4 blocks from the 5/405/55 split. I hope thats the one you guys are talking about...tell me if thats it and who is the "Man" to talk to....I appreciate all the help....Warr I will be getting rid of my "H" around Sept when I come back. Yes, I believe that is it. I see people say Costa Mesa, but if you want to be sure and want to know who to talk to, just find their thread with all the prices. It will say who you should talk to. Also, the tons of people who have bought Evos there have posted here and said who they talked to. I just don't have it memorized.

 

I really wish people would quit saying this like is gospel.

I think WARRTALON has done amazing things with his car and is one of the best drivers on here, his numbers prove that. BUT DAMN not everyone who gets this package is gonna run the same numbers if they dont have the driving skills he has. Launching , shifting etc etc etc.

 

Actually, IXs can go faster than I did with this package and several already have with lesser driving. IXs are just nasty...

There's a whole slew of Buschur/Dynoflash cars with basic stage 1 mods doing anywhere from 11.6-12.1.

 

Being in Iraq I am bouncing off satellites so the search sucks too much bandwidth so if anyone happens accross it I would really appreciate the helpif you could throw it in here somewhere....thanx. Each time I do a search it gives me a fatal error message. And what in the world is this SE you are talking about....Warr I have been seeing that you and some guy named AL? apparently are EVO deep so the mid-EVO or the MR...whats better...
