Post Which gauges should I get?

okay i'm in the process of buying my gauges, so far i already bought my boost gauge, but not sure what others i should get. I initially was thinking i should get boost , a/f , oil press. , water temp. , egt, and oil temp. gauges. But i wanted to be sure if all those are needed. I drag race the car and street race it(yeah i know not a good idea to do that but we do it in a very secluded place where nothing, abosolutly nothing is around) so i do a lot of racing when i do go out there to race.

hopefully with the info i have given, you can help me with chosing which gauges are suitable for my use of the car.

So after reading the 1000 threads discussing gauges, you couldn't narrow it down? You listed pretty much every possible gauge...

Boost, oil pressure, oil temp. I don't see you needing any of the others unless you do your own tuning. I have said the same thing on all the other threads.

I don't consider EGT important. You won't use it and won't be able to change anything. If your EGTs hit the danger area, it's already too late.

I don't know anything about water pressure...I've never even heard of it.

I personally prefer water temp to oil temp, during auto crosses and track days it would be nice to know the temp fluctuation of the car, and the stock dummy gauge doesnt offer that. In the future I might switch to oil pressure if I start messing with the engine, but thats why I bought VDO gauges. If I want to change, I would be paying $40 instead of $140 for Defi or similar.

i disagree. i think EGT is more important that oil pressure. if i see my egt's hit above 1600F, i know there is something wrong and i would shut down. the piston will not be immediatley distroyed at that temp. moreover, the rise of the temp is gradual, not instant, so monitering your egt's on WOT (especially on 5th gear) is important.

try www.prosportgauges.com
all 3 gauges for less than $170, and the amber ones pretty much match the interior color

Wow...does anyone have any experience with these gauges? How does the accuracy compare to those of others? It just seems weird that I haven't heard of this company or these gauges, plus they are really inexpensive. I may be interested in the group buy, I'll PM you.

they got a year warranty. Dropspeed has them, and he says they are "ok". however, he doesn't complain about inaccuracies.

They look awesome but I'm not sure that I would take these over Stewart Warner gauges..What would you do in your honest opinion?
