Thinking of purchasing a lX, a few questions...

All,

This would be my first post, I've been a member/lurcker for a bit and thought it appropriate to post now.

Well, I've been debating it, and debating it, and debating it some more, and I think I'm going to go ahead and purchase a '06 Lancer Evolution lX, provided it works for me monetarily. I havent done any shopping yet, hell I havent even driven the car, but before I even pick up the phone or step into a delaership I wanted to have my facts together. So if anyone can help with the following it would be greatly appreciated.

Are there any rebates currently available on the lancer evolution at the moment? Mitsubishimotors.com has 2 listed that I would fit into $1500.00 on the Lancer evolution and $500 for a college student or grad (within 2 years of graduating). Any others?

What are the current Finance % available from Mitsubishi Motors North America? I plan on financing as much as possible if not the whole thing.

Finally if you know of anyone who purchased an evo in the past couple of months and wouldnt mind sharing what they spent it also would be greatly appreciated.

Any other comments, feedback, or suggestions please dont hesitate to post them!

Thank you in advance for your time!

1) No rebates for the IX.
2) Normal finance rates are 5.9-6.9% with great credit right now...not great.
3) Tons of people have bought IXs recently then posted here. It doesn't matter what they paid unless they are in your area and bought from your available dealerships. Even so, they may haggle better or worse than you.
4) Don't buy anywhere else besides South Coast Mitsubishi who advertises through here and can give you a base IX for 29k or so, or a IX w/ssl for 31k. They are in SoCal, but you can ship from there to anywhere in the continental US.

Better sign up with a Credit union too if you want a decent rate. Assuming your fico score is good.

thanks for the heads up guys...

I'm going to make a couple of phone calls and see what i can dig up, my target price is 28K, and im a great haggler so well see, but i also understand its someones dinner so im not going to kill someone for the deal either.

South coast sounds good, but i dont think it will work out to either have it shipped or go out there and pick it up, i may use that as my last resort.

Anybody recommend any dealers in the tri-state area??

You will only get an RS for 28k. You won't get any deal close to South Coast Mitsu, so you might as well look at their prices and add 1k for the best possible price, because they sell well below invoice only because of the massive # of sales they make.
