Thumbs down I'm Scared of Mitsubishi....

Man....here's the story.
I went to the nearest Mitsubishi today hoping to get some Diaqueen LSD fluid. The guy (Let's call him Matt?! sry forgot to ask his name) in the parts department told me there isn't any in the shop. I told Matt that they should have a big gallon drum full of diaqueen. He told me that he had only ordered a gallons drum of diaqueen for another Evo owner 6 months ago. So I asked him what they put in when servicing the Evo. Matt went and asked the tech....I overheard their conversation.

Matt: Why aren't we stocking any Diaqueen fluids in the shop?
Tech: I don't know!
Matt: So what did you guys put in when servicing the Evo?....The Evo?!
Tech: I don't know, no I don't think we had ever service an Evo before...(walks away) .
(*The tech attitude= I don't know, leave me alone, I'm always busy) (Then Nick went into the service department looking for the fluids for a good 15mins)

Sidenote:.....My friend got his evo Transfer case, rear diff, and tranny fluid changed in this Mitsubishi about 3-4 months ago...

Matt comes back and tells me.
Matt: Sry man, I don't know why there isn't any Diaqueen in the shop. (Speaking to the cashier) You know what I really hate about this place? Nobody seems to care about anything. The answer is almost always "I Don't Know". The mazda dealership I worked in before was.....nothing like this.
Cashier: Come on, It's almost the end of the day.

.....Here's what I found out, not only they don't stock Diaqueen LSD fluid they also don't have OEM Diaqueen tranny fluid.

So out of curiosity, I called two more Mitsubishi dealership in MN. None of them stock Diaqueen LSD fluid in their shop. Obviously, they don't know you have to use Super Diaqueen for the MRs' tranfer case..They said they can only special order the gallon drum for me. They carried NONE in the shop.

The moral of the story...I'll never go to Mitsubishi for any kind of service, I don't care if they void my warranty IMAO!!!! I don't trust them...I'm changing everything on my own.

btw, the guy in parts department (aka. Matt) was being very friendly and helpful. Much appreciation, thumbs up.

I can understand not all dealerships are created equal. Just keep looking and maybe you'll find a good one like I have in my area.

My point is that I'm pretty sure none of the Mitsubishi dealerships in MN carries the OEM tranny/transfer case fluids for the Evo...They do have transfer/rear diff. fluids but they are not for the evo. And you keep hearing storys about people blowing up their transfer case on this forum....
I'm really wondering...why...

We have a real good one up here in NorCal fortunately. They know all about Evos. Most of us have either taken, or plan to take our Evos there for the 30k mile service where all that stuff is done. It's called San Rafael Mitsubishi. I bought my Evo there too.

yep, I was told all the evo owners are DIY ppl so they don't bother to stock the stuff since it will just sit there. They quoted me $220.00 to change all drivetrain fluids because they would have to order a 5 gal. drum. So, basically they turned me into a DIY person now.

the MR transfer case uses the same fluid as every other evo, diaqueen LSD oil. the
MR tranny is what uses diaqueen super multi gear oil.

Say what?

The dealership makes a cut on every service. You think they dont make any money on warranty work, LOL. How does the dealership pay the techs? From profit from sales and non warrenty work? Nope

I went to the parts department at my dealer and asked for some Diaqueen and the counter guy says some what??? I said diaqueen, you know, transfer case lube? He replied, oh, we don't have any, we don't use that.
These are the same people that did my drivetrain service that ruined my tc in 1000 miles.
Don't trust them.

The stock tranny fluid is BG SyncroMesh III just some FYI. Also Mitsu uses penzoil for the LSD's don't ask me why or you can and I'll tell you it's cause Mitsu is cutting corners to save money
