new to the forums.

i just registered at the site here last week. i've been reading through things and poking around for awhile now. i'm looking to purchase a new car in june or july. i have been in love with the stis forever, but i recently was able to drive a friend's evo8 gsr and i was very impressed. needless to say, the evo has won me over.

i'm still pretty noobish to certain things as far as the evo is concerned, but i don't plan to mod it right off when i do get it. i want to drive it stock and maybe get some nice wheels for the car first. i'm a little burned out on the whole modding deal right now. i have spent the last year and a half modding my 2003 tiburon (yeah i know, laugh it up), and i was able to get 316whp and 257ft/lb out of it so i'm pretty comfortable with forced induction. i just want a good solid platform to start with, and the evo provides that no question.

i don't really have a point to my post here, just wanted to say hi. if there are any chicagoland evo owners around, if you guys have meets i wouldn't mind stopping in to check things out. i'm really looking forward to getting an evo, the next few months up until i'm ready to purchase are going to drag by i'm sure.

i do have one question though, does anyone here have an issue with the search not working? i have tried doing searches and for some reason it either just kind of sits there and thinks or turns up a database error of some sort.

Welcome to the boards... sounds like you know your stuff. Not gonna laugh about the Tibby (300+whp is no joke), but it's a great move to go to a car that was built for FI. You'll love the Evo, trust me. I came from a 350Z and I don't miss it one bit.

Again, welcome.

Welcome, it's great to see an educated member join the forum, esspecially one with an interest in the "search" feature.

Contact an admin if nobody tells you how to resolve the issue, it has something to do with restrictions on your end.

You'll love the Evo, and good luck not modding it .

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /home/emedia/public_html/forums/search.php on line 1024

that is the error i'm getting...

it only seems to happen if the search is too complicated... if it is like a one or two word search it will work sometimes...
