Well, finally got my Evo today!
After waiting nearly 3 weeks for DAS to deliver the car to me, I finally got it about 12:30 this afternoon.
It's been raining here for days; the car is filthy from it's trip across the country (I told them not to bother washing it at the terminal, as I want to do everything myself); and all the plastic wrap is still covering all the interior, as well as several sections of the exterior.
Hell, I can't even drive it until Thursday (first chance I'll have to get over to AAA to register it and get my plate).
And it's still the most beautiful thing I've seen!
I tell you, when the driver pulled up in front of my house with my car on the tiltbed, I had a grin on my face you couldn't remove surgically. First time I sat behind the wheel was when he let me drive it off the truck, and I swear my smile got even bigger. After checking the car over and signing the paperwork, I just stood out there in the drizzle staring at it for a few minutes.
And then I opened the door and sat back down inside for another few minutes!
Hardest thing I had to do was pull it into the garage and head back to work (I had taken an extended lunch break to meet the guy at my house). I even ended up staying late at work, and didn't get home until after 11, but don't you know that I opened up the garage and just stared at the car for a minute or two before coming into the house.
So yeah, I have no idea what it drives like, and the car needs some serious cleaning; but even with all this I can't help but feel that I definately made the right decison getting this thing.
Anyway, just wanted to share!

why did they have to deliver it? Wow I wish my car was still wrapped in plastic and I'd rather clean it myself.. so that my car will not have lots of swirlmarks all over my car.. Any angle of my car I see swirlmarks.. it sucks..
Well, I do the same.. I would open the garage and check out my car once in a while haha.. happy modding!

They didn't have to deliver it - I just paid the extra for door-to-door pick-up and delivery when I set it up with Bernie out in CA. As much as I'm sure the guys at South Coast would have followed the break-in procedures when driving it to the terminal, I'd still rather have the least amount of miles on it when I first get the car so I know it's done properly.
And as far as having it delivered up to my house, with my work schedule it's just more convenient. Plus, as I said, I don't have a plate for it (not transferring an existing plate), so it's not legal to drive as of yet. In fact, to get it down to the AAA office, I'm going to have to stick one of my dealer plates on it for the short drive there and hope nothing unforseen happens!
