Can't Decide:

I have narrowed my choice of exhaust down to 2 for my IX, both are about the same in price so money is not the problem, I just want to know which will make better performance numbers and give me a nice mellow tone: My choices are:

Perrin TBE with Test Pipe or AMS TBE with Test Pipe. A friend of mine has the Perrin on his STi and he loves it so I am kinda leaning towards them but I would like a few opinions first because I am not familiar with AMS's TBE.

You really can't judge the Perrin sound from an STi. The motor makes a complete different tone. I think they will both be very nice, but I would go AMS.

Go with what you like. Its your car and everyone has thier own opinion but a 3' exhaust will flow pretty close to each other.

Not sure why you're so stuck on Perrin. I keep saying this in all your threads. The AMS TBE is great, but it's so ridiculously expensive. Are you just not willing to get a package and save money?

I bought the Buschur Catless w/ Magnaflow, AMS LICP, Megan O2 Housing, Hallman MBC, HKS RS Intake, and Boost, Vac, guages. Now once I put this stuff in do I have to go right out and Tune the car or will I be ok for a few days or so. The reason I am asking is because I can't get an appointment for my tune for a few weeks and I want to know if I will be ok to drive the car??

You cant judge exhaust from an STi to an Evo...so incredibly different sounding. Two people on my forum have the Greddy Evo 2, one on an STi and one on an Evo...not even similar except for the level of loudness, but the tone and bass are totally different.

You will be fine for a few weeks. YOu won't hurt the car or anything, but it won't run optimally. Just get tuned as soon as you can. Curious why you didn't just get the Warrtalon package to save money, since you bought the parts anyway...

lol @ Warr, you are the ultimate sponsor cheerleader! Not everyone likes Buschur parts and dynoflash tuning. Give people a chance to make their own decisions.

I didn't go with the kit because I was able to get the guages, LICP, and MBC from my buddy who just totalled his evo. He hasn't even installed any of them yet so they are brand new. He is getting a big settlement and he just gave all the parts to me, so all I really needed was the TBE, and I wanted the Megan O2 housing, and HKS Intake. I was going to go with the package but getting a bunch of free stuff works out a little better IMO.

Yeah, that's fine. Most people don't get lucky like that.
