It will boost under load. You can be running higher RPM and not be under that much boost but you can floor it at a lower RPM and build boost moreso. I personally think you will be fine if you do what you said there. That is Mitsus recommedation and they designed the damn thing so they should know better than anyone else right?

There is no recommended procedure that says to do that for 1000 miles - it's 600 miles. You also don't need to ch ange the oil after that. Again, that is not in the recommended break-in procedure given to you by Mitsu.

What do you mean the car would boost no matter what? It will only boost hard if you go WOT. If you do part throttle or low throttle, it won't boost or will boost very little. You don't spool the turbo unless you're at high throttle. Make sure you do full boosting up to 5k often within that first 600 miles, then after 600 miles, start ragging it out to the rev limiter.

No, what he said is not Mitsu's recommendation.

True it is 600. I dont think they ever said anything about the oil. I babied mine at first so I actually kept the RPMs down for about 800-900 miles before getting on it. From then on I drove it like it was stolen. I just change the oil every 3k miles. Never changed after 1k.
