Newb intro.. kind of long...

Hey,
I'm new to Evo's but not to 4g63's. I've been in the DSM scene for over 5 years. I'm about 85% sure about getting an Evo (IX GSR) and I need some last minute questions answered. I'm not a newb to forums, so I did my part using the search button. However, I need the help of this community to find the answers to my questions efficiently because I have to make my decision by the end of this week. I especially need input from experienced Evo owners. I plan on using the Evo as a daily driver and a weekend warrior.
-Reliability: I've read that Evo's can be a money pit. I've put a lot of money into my DSM, but it was mostly to maintain the 16 yr old car. Are high mileage Evo's trouble-free (besides normal maintenance ie. oil, filters, etc)?
-Resources: This forum already has a wealth of information and this will be my main resource center. Can I get access to downloadable service manuals? Also, can someone lead me to maintence schedule for an Evo (ix gsr)?
-Crankwalk: I'm completely aware that crankwalk is an issue for any engine. I've done tons of research on crankwalk because it is an issue for DSM's. I've read testimonies of members here who have experienced crankwalk. Should I expect to keep a stash of money for a future rebuild due to crankwalk?
-Insurance: Lastly, I know that insurance premiums for Evo's are high. Are there specific insurance companies who "favor" Evo's and will give them a break? If not, I'll have to resort to paying 450 a month.
It all sums up to this: I'm looking for a reliable daily driver that's a weekend monster. My DSM is great, but it's aged. I spend most of my money on maintenance parts rather than performance parts.
.. The only thing that sucks is I'll have monthly payments and a higher insurance premium!
Thanks in advance..
Your input will help me with my decision.

1) No.
2) Yes, they are available multiple places online. It will be in your manual when you buy it - not much reason to see it beforehand - it's just standard stuff.
3) No, you've truly seen testimonials? I haven't - just a few who thought they had it and didn't. It's not common by any means. Spinning a rod bearing on a stock Evo with 1000 miles is far more common than crankwalk.
4) No.
