Has anyone used this stuff?

I came across this stuff on the internet and was wondering if anyone has tried it. The site is Phantomplate.com. This spray goes on your license plate and reflects whenever police cameras try to take a picture of your license plate. So my question is if the stuff works? At $30 a can or $20 for a cover I don't really want to throw away money for a product that might not work.

well I would only get it if you're planning on eating some red-lights.... I just find it useless.

....By the way, It does work! Just gotta keep remembering to re-apply it.

In IL they are starting to put in vans that take pictures of your plates in construction zones. Generally I don't speed in them but spending $30 over possibly getting a $375 ticket seems worth it.

it works, but it depends on how often police take pics of your car. I know here, you only get a ticket for being caught speeding or seen going through a red light. I think they only place that takes pictures are gas station cameras, so for me it would be useless

okay, so you need it then. It's a good investment, go for it! save yourself hundreds of dollars in misc. tickets.

i know in CA if you get caught having something like that its a huge fine! might want to look into that. probably cheaper to slow down and don't run red lights

you could spend $0 instead of $30 or even $375 if you actually use your brakes.

I don't plan on speeding through any construction zones. Just using the stuff as insurance.

Why would you need to speed through red lights anyways? Thats a good way to kill yourself or someone else. I dont see how that stuff is legal.

Come on guys every single person on this board speeds every once in a while. I say go for it. It is good insurance. Just don't think that it is ok to speed or run lights just because you have it. Just in case you aren't checking that speedmeter every 15 seconds...

Exactly. I only want to get it if I happend to be a little over the limit and one of the cameras catch me in a construction zone. They strictly enforce it even when no workers are present. I don't really want to risk a $375 fine for only going over the speed limit a little bit.
