Does your Evo stink?
Does your Evo stink?
I cruise over altamont on a daily basis and in the last two weeks i've gotten behind Evo's that have been damn stinky. Does not having a cat make that huge of a difference? If I can smell it so easy aren't you worried about CHP?
Mine stinks every once in a while and I'm running a cat. Try sticking with the same gas company, even the same gas station. When I did this the smell was around a lot less. Still happens every once in a while when I run it hard after it's been sitting for a couple days or I haven't driven it hard for a little while... It was really bad after I tried to drive it easy for a full tank of gas to see if I could better my mpg which ended up being one of the most difficult things I had ever done
lol...too funny!
Yesterday two women in a car gave me the finger cause "Your car ****ing stinks!!" I thought they were just hating...but when the driver did the hand waving gesture of something stinks i got it ...does it really smell that strong? i was just cruising too...

Stink
I noticed a little in my 03', the whole bottom of the bumper would get black if I did not wax it. I really notice it in the Typhoon, no cat, you could die from the carbon-monoxide if stood by the exhaust pipe.

im not running a cat, i have a ultimate racing test pipe. and i for one never have noticed a stench from the exhaust. or just maybe florida all together stinks because we have no emissions and really everyones exhaust are horrible.
I was behind a catless Regal at a light. The fumes were so bad that the ventilation in my car could not exhaust them fast enough and opening a window made it worse. My kids were in the back and when they started to ask why it hurt when they breathed, I was tempted to get out of the car and ask the Buick's owner a few questions. It was a very unpleasant situation.

this is a true funny story that happened when i traded my evo8 for the evo9.
i swap my other exhaust back the stock evo8 exhaust when i traded it in. The stock exhaust had been sitting back in my buddy edwins back yard for ~2 years. It was not check to see if "anyting" is living in the piping. When the car was started the very 1st time ......it smell like BBQ....and continued for 3 days till i traded it in for the 9. I think a mouse or snake must have made home in the downpipe......and when the engine was started after the switch, the animal got stuck because it couldnt pass thru the stock cat...and got BBQed in there.....

not having a cat will def give ur car a sexy smell or in the words of Brian Fantana "Thats the smell of desire." Seriously tho the smell of half burnt gas is kinda enjoyable.
