my friend has a 2004 srt. i just got my 9 a couple weeks ago. my friend says he can beat me, the only mods he has are intake and blow off valve. i'm stock. last year i saw him beat a stock evo 8. i keep telling him i'm gonna beat him though, what do you guys think.

Its really depends on how bad the driver is / is not....

If you can launch the car, you should be able to crush him.....

it still wont even be close from a roll. I have an EVO 8 RS with just a TBE and i kill srt4's from rolls from any speed, its like there standing still.

 

On an SRT4, the bOV adds 0 HP, intake maybe 5-6....but you'll beat him if your somewhat a good driver

SRT-4's are torquey, but from a roll you should have no problem! From a dig might get you off the line cause dont the IX's have a limiter that keeps revs at 3k max in first? I have no problem with them with my 240 and look forward to seeing how my silver Evo 8 will do when i get it on Weds/Thurs!

 

I would go either way running from a roll (Depends on driver). You would spank him from a dig.

only thing i got out of my intake on my srt4 is the turbo sound


from a roll the race would be alot closer but since evo 9s are a bit faster than 8s stock, it would be a real good race if you dont win.

When I had my SRT, I could keep up w/ a VIII from a roll (SRT was stock at that point), but my 9 is def. faster than my SRT!

 

yah i owned an srt-4 too the mods he has are basicly for the sound of it the nine will smoke him but it will be a tad closer from a roll from dig he wont have a chance though

 

haha when I was stock..stock or lightly modded srt4's would pull on me from a roll starting anywhere from 60 on. stock for stock srt has a better power to weight ratio and they're gearing is set up better for drag I dont know why everyone jumps to "oh you'd kill him" maybe if I had a 9 I wouldnt be that way but even now I have 292 awhp with a full custom tune by al and at 60 in 3rd srt's still stay right with me if not pull on me with light mods thats what they're made for. I'm not out street RICING so I dont set up races from a dig only time I give it a little gas is if i run into someone on the highway just to play for a few seconds then give a thumbs up.
