800 miles Am I ok to start pushing it?

I've been reading alot and it seems that their isnt a straight answer for the break in period. I want to test my new Evo at the track as soon as possible but if it's to early I'll wait.

what did everyone get to before you opened her up?

I hope I pull some low 13s stock... Crossing my fingers. realistically I'll probably go low 14s my first time down since I've never launched a AWD car before.

You will do fine!! Here is how you (Or I) launch an AWD. Get the RPM's up to 5500. WATCH THE TACH. (the game here is to keep your RPM's around that "zone". slip (DO NOT DROP!) the clutch a little, and once you have "loaded" the drive train, ie start moving forward, SMASH it!! The gas to the floor that is. Practice that, once you got it, it is fun!!! Don't worry about bogging down at the line the first few times, we have ALL done it! Dont ride the clutch too long, and dont add the SHOCK to the drivetrain by dropping the clutch like a RWD mustang. your parts wont like that! Good luck, and I guess you will be in the high 12's after a few passes!! Oh yeah, if you start to feel "wheel hop", getting off the line, get out of the gas!! This is bad for the TC.!

You're 200 miles late! Break-in is 600 miles of hard driving but nothing above 5000 miles. A IX can run a low 13 stock without any effort, so you should have no problem.

You can only rev the IX to 5000 with the clutch in.

My first time out to the track and first time launching an AWD car I hit a 13.3@104... you should do fine.

Oh yeah, like Warr said, break-in is 600 miles... go have some fun!

Not if you disconnect the switch.

It's not messing with anything. It just removes the launch limiter, plain and simple. It's a lot easier to just disconnect it when you're at the track than wait however long it takes to get a flash. Even with a flash and having it raised, sometimes I disconnect it just to get the launch limiter out of the way. Not every track in every condition is conducive to launch control in my experience, and disconnecting the switch is simple and painless.

Im going on the 26 with a 100% stock Evo iX...there's so many fully modded NA civics and INtegras running anywhere from low 13s- low 14s. It's going to be fun being at thatlevel with a stock EVo lol.

Thanks for the advice

I never really thought about Wheel hop being bad on a AWD vehicle. My RSx had Wheel hop up the *** and the only wasy to do anything about it was getting stiffer motor mounts. It made the drive pretty harsh and at idle/low RPM the car would vibrate and rattle. I'm not trying to make the Evo into a race car so no mounts for me.
