Ive heard they are still going to manufacture the IX, till the X comes out in 2007, is this true?

 

No 2007 EVO. 2006 EVO SE is coming from August I believe.
There are still few more EVO 9 coming into state along with SE models, not it's still going to be 2006.

why would they stop selling the Evo.

It's the best selling car that Mitsubishi has state side.

Most likely Mitsubishi will have both the IX and X on the lot at the same time.

It's just Salesman hype to get people to buy now.

I was looking at the s2000 in late 2002 for my girl friend and the sleezy salesman tells me they were stopping production to keep the s2000 rare.

 

Umm, totally untrue. The number one selling Mitsubishi car is the Galant, followed by the Eclipse. I believe the Endeavor is third. Mitsu sells less Evos than Eclipse Spyders!

 

yeah they don't make enouh evos to make them the #1 selling Mitsu.

 

I saw the SE at MOD. The front lip is ugly as $hit and the threading on the seats is crap imo. I can't wait for the X.

 

FWIW, last year there were ~4,500 Evos sold in the US. Not many at all.

the evo is NOT mitsu's #1 selling car. there were only a certain number of evos made and sent here. if you calculate it on a ratio of evos sold to the number of evos shipped, then the evo would be #1.

 

The Evo IS Mitsus number one selling car with a carbon wing on the back. Its also their number one selling car with a turbo. So your partially correct.

 

I cant understand why are they not making Evo's IX for the 07 if suppously the new X is comming for the 08

 

07 = emissions law changes and side airbags must be standard. Lancer cant meet that requirement so no production.
