Used 05 MR or New IX

Hey guys..Im going to be purchasing an evo soon and i was wondering which is the better buy....My local dealership has a used 05 graphite grey MR with 5800 miles on it for 28000 with full warranty....However, they have 06 IXs that are 31000...What do you guys think is better?

new IX , its always a nice feeling when you are selling a car as the original owner for both you AND them (the buyer) as well. You have no idea how that MR was broken in and maintained.

Maybe if you asked between a used 06 and a new 05, it would make sense, but I don't see how there's any decision to make when you're talking about an older, slower used Evo vs a brand new, faster Evo.

Yes, but for $3K he could make the 05 MR faster than the stock IX that he is considering. Plus, he gets all the MR goodies that don't come with the regular GSR. If you're fairly confident that the MR was not abused during its short life, I'd go with that one.

I had to choose between a 05 WW MR w/ 10k miles for $29k or a 06 WW IX GSR for $27k.
I drove the MR, it felt smooth between shifts and suspension was not stiff like the GSR. It felt slow compared to my IX though. So I bought the IX GSR. The 6 speed is nice, I wish sometimes I had it but i'm very happy with my IX GSR.

he could buy a 89 240sx for $500 bucks and drop a SR20DET w/ a T78 setup boosting 23848234 psi and smoke either.

So what's your point? Were not saying who can smoke who for so and so amount of money.

easy choice, IX. You won't regret it. If you go with the 05, you'll always be thinking that you should of went with the 06. where are you located?

I'm just echoing what so many others have said on this forum. Since most of us modify our Evos (myslef excluded), I just wanted to throw that consideration in there. If the intention is to keep either car stock, I'd go with the IX.

If you can swing the extra cash why not get a IX? They have so much more potential and respond to bolt ons so much better. IX all the way!!!

IX all the way, everyone that I've talked to local that has owned both said the IX was a hands down better car.
