exhaust

i know that this has been brought up a million times before so please dont flame me but i am in the market for a new turbo back exhuast for my evo and i was thinking either ams or turbo xs. i know that the ams exhaust is probably more badass but i have heard of some fitment issues. if anyone could share their opinion on which one i should get or if i should get a different exhaust please speak up asap. i would probably rather have the ams exhaust but i dont want to run into any fitment issues or anything.

I don't think buschurs exhaust has fitment issues. I didn't think ams's did either. Works is another one you should look at.

I have the TurboXS catback. It's nice but the exhaust tip exits the rear at an angle instead of coming out straight. I had to move the hangers over just to get it centered in the hole in the bumper. Even then it melted part of my bumper.

errrr on second thought it's great and you should buy one.... would you be interested in mine?

The only real plus is that it sounds good due to the resonator in the midpipe.

I have the catback mated up to the Helix test pipe and a Helix dp. The TurboXS mates up to the other pipes fine.

The Helix catback was on back order when I bought my catback. I really wish I had just waited for the Helix. I would have even saved a little money in the process.

I have the TurboXS on my IX. The fitment is good. Didn't melt my bumper, but it does turn it a little brown. I ordered the carbon fiber exhaust trim to solve the issue. I do love the sound of the TXS exhaust. Deep tone and not too loud.

What does AMS need to say? Many people have their exhaust. It's awesome. It has no fitment issues. It costs $1000. What else is there to know? I think a BR TBE for $825 will be great, and I don't think much of anything from TXS.

I'm not too keen on how you keep saying "I heard...I heard...I heard." How about spending a few hours searching on here instead so that you can find some real data?

See my sig and listen to the vid/sound clip.

The Tanabe Concept G Blue fits great, no need to bend any hangers.

I have had many friends comment to me that it sounds more like a V8 than a 4banger.

Just my .02

I was going to go with the Turbo XS exhaust myself but after I saw the JIC I fell in love. AMS is nice but way too expensive for what you get. BR is a well made exhaust but it is uglier than sin. I got my JIC for $520 shipped and the quality is the best out there. You might want to check it out. Vividracing.com sells them.
